When my friend Vicky mentioned she was looking at destination wedding venues in Ibiza, I must admit my first thought was “I’m too old for Ibiza”, but thankfully my less boring self took over and squealed with delight at the thought of walking down the beach at sunset, watching one of my best friends marry her love.
Needless to say the wedding was a fabulous affair, which oozed effortless chic and a lot of love, emotion and fun.
The venue, was the amazing Elixir Shore Club, a villa which has been specifically designed to cater for destination weddings, with a spectacular patio terrace, bar, alfresco dinning area and incredible views of the Ibizan coast, especially Es Vedra (the island of fertility).
The wedding day itself was the most relaxed I have ever witnessed, with the bride even taking a yoga class in the morning. We started getting ready at around 1pm for a 4pm ceremony.
When Vicky and I discussed what she wanted to look like on her wedding day, her main focus was to have a pretty updo with a boho effortless feel. We opted for a side chignon with a tousled texture and cascading curls falling from her hair line. I used hair extensions to build volume as Vicky has fine hair, with a texturising spray to give the hair some grip and texture.
Vicky was really pleased with the finished look an she could dance the night away knowing it would not move an inch. Her makeup was classic, and with a sun-kissed glow from the previous days on the island, Vicky did her own makeup and added some fuchsia lipstick and gloss, to give her lips impact and add to the classic look.
